Artist's Comments

April 2008

- Wheel thrown white stoneware
- Burnished with terra sigilata when bone dry
- Bisque fired to cone 08
- Fired again in a gas kiln to 1200 Farenheit. Pulled out while hot and decorated with strands of horsehair and sugar. The carbon from the hair burning is soaked into the clay when it is hot. There is about a 1 minute window where the pot is the right temperature to "record" the lines of the horsehair.
- No glaze

This is beautiful. I love your work. Do you sell it online anywhere? I doubt I could afford it, but I can pass the info along.

Thank you so much! I sell my work through a gallery in Rockport, TX. Their website is [link] Click on "List of Artists" on the left navigation bar. I'm on the 3rd page of artists. You can click on my name and then there are about 3 pages of items for sale. If you are interested, just call or email them and tell them which one you would like to purchase. They will ship the piece to you. They pack the pieces VERY CAREFULLY. :-)
