"It is said that the Devil has all the best tunes. This is broadly true. But Heaven has the best choreographers." ~Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Then it was underglazed:
I masking tape in one major line around the pot, and some of the smaller lines. I watered down turquoise Amaco Velvet Underglaze and put it in a disposable spray gun. I would spray several coats of the underglaze and then remove some of the tape and spray again. I repeated the spray, and tape removal steps 8 or 9 times. The more coats of spray, the darker the turquoise. The longer the tape covered an area, the fewer coats of spray and the lighter the area. The final step was to remove the rest of the tape, leaving white areas.
The pot was bisque fired again to "set" the underglaze. Then I dipped the pot in a clear glaze and fired it to cone 6.
The glass was fired in a separate kiln 3 times. Twice for the design, and once for the slump.
